Then apparently you’re not alone.
I was under the impression that all PSAT scores had been finally released on 1/7, at least until I happened to check Mercedes Schneider’s blog. Apparently, some students are still unable to access their scores (or at least they were as of 1/9).
According to one Pennsylvania parent Schneider cites:
As of today, more than 24 hours after the scores were supposedly released yesterday, we are still unable to see them. I have been advised by a school counselor that this is also happening to [several other] top ranked [Pennsylvania] high schools. There may be many others here and around the country, because when parents/students call the College Board to complain, the PSAT help line (866-433-7728) is so profoundly overloaded that a recorded message comes on advising to try to call again tomorrow or after going through a series of prompts hangs up or puts people into an endless cue. I just reached an agent after holding for nearly an hour. The agent looked into my teen’s account and confirmed that no October 2015 scores have been released and that access codes for …many high schools have not been delivered. She offered to “escalate” my concern to another department, which she said would respond in 5-7 business days, which is outrageous.
If this is widespread, College Board is in deep crisis. If it is just [our area in our state], then our students are being placed at a disadvantage compared to other students in terms of preparation for the March SAT. In any case, College Board has demanded that it hold the key to the futures of millions of children, but it is increasingly showing that is unworthy of such a great trust and responsibility.

Any word from Valerie Strauss regarding authorship of the questions on the new SAT? I am only just beginning to go through the sample questions, and while they are noticeably better than what I’ve gone through on Khan A, there is definitely something off about them.
Also, it seems the last vestiges of pure ‘aptitude’ testing on the SAT have finally been purged. The Math section at least appears to be nothing more than a watered down national Regents exam. What is the point? Colleges already have transcripts, APs, IBs, and Subject Tests. If we are only trying to gauge college readiness by qualifying GPAs between high schools, and not trying to pick the smartest underachievers out of the crowd, then why not just put state testing results on the transcript and be done with it?
Now I am just rambling, but it also seems to me that the new test will discriminate even MORE against those students who attend substandard high schools. Since the test results will come more in line with academic prep and less in line with g, this will be a boon for the test prep industry, the exact opposite result Mr. C claims to be looking for.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on your blog!
All the best,
John
I’ve got at least two students whose PSAT scores had not been released as of 1/17. This rollout has not been stellar.
According to the Washington Post, only 1.1 million students out of 4 millions have received their scores so far. I had no idea the problem was this huge.
I am a high school student in Texas and I have not yet received my PSAT/NMSQT scores from October. I contacted collegeboard so many times and have not received any assistance so I am at a disadvantage. I take the SAT at my school on March sixth. I cannot believe how long this is taking. I contacted them on December 18th, the day after scores were supposed to be released by. My peers’ scores were released on December 12th. I am outraged at this. I called twice and emailed twice, I just emailed again because everyone at my school got a physical copy except me. I am more than mad at this. It’s stupid that I don’t have some sort of answer by now. Not even a “we’re working on it” or “sorry for the wait” but just nothing. I have no idea what to study for the SAT now. I can’t link my scores to Khan Academy because I have NO scores. I took the PSAT and filled everything out correctly. I’m not sure what they want me to do but they haven’t said anything to me. >:(
It’s now March 27th and I still don’t have my PSAT results from October. I’ll be taking the SAT on June, but without the knowledge of my weaknesses in the PSAT, this is going to be a disadvantage. As if being homeschooled isn’t a disadvantage enough!
